COUNTY SALES TAX REVENUE UP

Sales tax revenue climbed during the latest monthly distribution in Texas County, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Revenue in Texas County from three, half-cent sales taxes is up about 3.7 percent from the same period a year ago.

In August, distributions increased about 35 percent on all three from 2018. For the year, about $752,600 has been collected on each. That’s up about $26,900 from a year ago.

An added bonus this year is revenue from a “use tax” that allows the county to receive revenue from some out-of-state purchases. Voters approved the measure earlier. Nearly $200,000 has been collected this year.
