Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol held a special enforcement operation in Texas County.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G commanding officer Capt. Bruce D. Fiske announced that troopers conducted a special enforcement operation in Texas County on Sunday.

The operation targeted hazardous moving violations, including failing to move over for emergency vehicles, driving while intoxicated, excessive speed, improper passing and aggressive driving.

Totals for the operation:

•27 speed citations.

•8 seat belt citations.

•2 other hazardous moving violation citations.

•2 nonmoving violation citations.

•2 driver’s license violation citations.

•2 uninsured motorist citations.

“The goal of this type of operation is to reduce crashes by providing a safer environment for the motoring public and first responders,” Fiske said. “Troopers provided high visibility and strictly enforced all violations.”
