FIRE CALL

Two departments responded early Monday to a house fire southeast of Houston.

Firefighters responded in the early hours of Monday morning to a fire that destroyed a house on Highway H southeast of Houston.

Houston Rural Fire Department Chief Don Gaston said the call came in at about 4 a.m. and the structure – located between Highways DD and Y – was fully involved by the time firefighting personnel arrived. Gaston said Houston Rural sent a pumper truck and a brush truck, and that the woman who lived in the house was not injured.

Texas County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Rowdy Douglas said the blaze is being investigated.

The Tyrone Fire Department also sent a pumper engine.
