Romines Motor Co. in Houston will host the eighth annual “Drive 4UR School” fundraising event to benefit the Houston School District from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday (Sept. 14).
For every valid test drive completed on Saturday, Ford Motor Co. will donate $20 to the cause, up to a maximum of $6,000 at each participating dealership.
In the past seven versions of the event at Romines, $55,300 has been raised that has gone toward a variety of Houston Schools projects and upgrades, including purchasing e-readers for the school library, installation of an air conditioning system in Hiett Gymnasium, construction of the Tiger Pride Commons Area, updating campus security systems and more.
Since Ford launched the campaign in 2007, more than 7,000 events have been staged at dealerships around the U.S., and more than $50 million has been raised for local schools.
People wishing to participate are encouraged to preregister online at https://d4ur.com/w9prb.
