COUNCIL MEETS

The Houston City Council met Monday night at Houston City Hall.

The field has been narrowed to three persons to become the next City of Houston administrator.

The decision came Monday during a special meeting of the Houston City Council. Thirteen applied for the vacancy.

Interviews are set to occur soon.

The council in May named City Clerk Heather Sponsler as the interim administrator following the February departure of Tona Bowen.

The administrator runs the day-to-day operation of city government, supervises the workforce and prepares the annual budget.
