Following a long layoff, the Houston Tigers return to the court tonight.
HHS will play for the first time in 10 days Friday at Seymour. The Tigers haven't competed in a game since a season-opening loss Nov. 21 to Cuba.
Houston (0-1) got 21 points and four 3-pointers from senior Michael Zamarron - a transfer from Houston, Texas - in the opener. Senior forward Ty McCloud had eight points, six assists and three of the team’s eight steals.
The Tigers were sophomores Kyler Ramsey (finger), Isaiah Buse (ankle) and Clayton Moore (ankle). Moore will play Friday night, coach Rod Gorman said.
HHS struggled protecting the ball as the Tigers committed 23 turnovers against Cuba's 1-3-1 halfcourt trap.
“We will work on passing extensively every day until we pass better,” Gorman said after the game.
Seymour (1-0) won its season opener 69-55 Nov. 21 against Ava.
