Members of the community and Houston High School football staff stand in front of a new inflatable tunnel that will be used by the Tigers beginning with the 2017 season. The hemlet is 17 feet tall while the tunnel is 12 feet ball and 24 feet long. The ,100 purchase was made possible by donations from: Cory Scheets, Napa Auto Parts, Texas County Collector Tammy Cantrell, Evans Funeral Home, Paws N Claws, Houston Veterinary Hospital, Hurst Logging, Ron and Annie Antle, Burch Insurance, Tadd and Dana McCloud, Medlock's Body Shop, Jay's Automotive, Brad and Christie Koch, Corner Express, Romines Motor Co., Smith Excavating, Landmark Bank, Lonnie and Jeramy Lee, Hiett Land Title, State Farm agent Justin Shelby, Houston Varsity Club and the Houston Tiger Booster Club.

The Houston High School football team will take the field in style in 2017.

A new inflatable tunnel was recently presented to the team thanks to contributions from area businesses, individuals and families. The price tag was $5,100.

The helmet stands 17 feet tall with a face mask that opens for players to run through. The tunnel behind it is 12 feet tall and 24 feet long.

HHS opens the season Aug. 18 at Ash Grove. The first home game is Aug. 25 against St. James.
