The City of Houston will participate in Thursday's earthquake drill.

The “Shake Out” drill for earthquake preparedness and response training is scheduled for 10:15 a.m., Thursday, April 28.

“This is also the day of the city’s scheduled severe weather siren test. If the weather is good and the sky looks pleasant, the time for the siren test will be shifted to 10:15 a.m. to coincide with the national earthquake drill, said Art Thomas, Houston’s emergency preparedness director. “If the weather and sky are not cooperating there will be no siren test that day. However, if you are planning to conduct a drill please do so.”
