SOUTH A. NOBLE

A Mountain Grove man was arrested July 24 and is held in the Texas County Jail on $1 million bond as a result of sheriff’s department investigation of an incident May 15.

South A. Noble, 45, is charged with several felonies: first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

According to a probable cause statement submitted to the county prosecutor by a TCSD deputy, a woman reported that Noble and two other men came to her Stoneridge Drive residence at about 6 p.m., and one of the men came to her door asking for the keys to a pickup truck. The woman reportedly stated she saw a handgun stuck in the belt in his pants.

The officer reported the woman said Noble got behind the wheel of the truck and spun the wheels, sending rocks flying. She said she picked up a rock to throw, and Noble stopped the vehicle, got out and pointed a pistol at her, also yelling profanities.

The woman’s mother reportedly then yelled for her brother to get his gun, and Noble drove the truck to the top of the driveway. He allegedly fired five shots in the direction of the two women and the brother, who were all ducked down behind a car.

The woman stated her brother got up and fired one shot with a shotgun at the truck before quickly ducking back down.

Noble attempted to flee into an adjacent wooded area on a motorcycle, but was apprehended by Sheriff James Sigman and Sgt. Travis Davis and taken to jail.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the arrest.

“I can always count on them to assist my office,” Sigman said.
