CASA of South Central Missouri (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will hold an informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the Texas County Justice Center.
This is an informal opportunity to learn more about the CASA program, and how volunteers speak out for abused and neglected children in the court system.
Persons are invited to attend, bring a friend, and/or spouse, and see how to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and youth in foster care.
“We can’t serve the children without dedicated volunteers who are passionate about children in care,” according to a press release.
Persons who over the age of 21 and can pass a drug screen and background check are invited. CASA representatives will be available to answer questions and enourage persons to impact the community and be the change in a child’s life.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a national organization of volunteers that are appointed by judges to speak for the safety and well-being of abused and neglected children. Texas County is part of the 25th Judicial Circuit in Missouri, which represents nearly 500 children in the judicial system. There are more than cases in Texas County alone, 80 percent of which are covered by CASA volunteers.
