TCMH Plans Public Forums on Expansion Project
Texas County Memorial Hospital is holding five public forums throughout the county to provide information about the hospital's upcoming expansion project.
Each forum will feature Wes Murray, chief executive officer at the hospital providing information, including pictures, about the 38,000-square foot expansion, the largest expansion in the hospital's 50-year history.
"Texas County Memorial Hospital is our community hospital," Murray said. "We want to keep our community informed about the changes we are making in the hospital as we try to improve the access to healthcare in our county."
Murray's presentation will include information about the construction plans, how the construction will be paid for and what the new construction will include, as well as the construction timeline.
"Many residents are unaware that the hospital is not supported by any (local) tax dollars," Murray explained. "We want our residents to understand how we take the small profits we make at the hospital and re-invest it in better healthcare services for our community."
Following is the public forums schedule:
-- 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Community Room at Summersville Community Bank.
-- 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Wachovia Securities in Houston.
-- 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Cabool Senior Center
-- 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Licking community room.
-- 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at Roby Citizen's Center.
The forums are free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
"We hope that anyone with any interest in our hospital will come out to one of the public forums," Murray said.
In addition to the program prepared for the forums, questions about the project will be answered.
For additional information about the forums, contact Joleen Senter Durham, director of public relations at TCMH, at 417-967-1258.
