County, City To Sell Tracts for Taxes

Texas County and the City of Houston will sell several tracts of property on the steps of the county courthouse because the owners failed to pay their taxes.

The land tax sale is Aug. 25.

In the notice published in this week's Herald, both entities are selling 30 pieces of property - 27 by the county and 3 by the city.

Before the newspaper was published, there were 65 on the list before several delinquent taxpayers paid their debt.

Notices were earlier sent to those who hadn't paid property taxes for the last three years.

Upon the sale of the property, the previous owner has one year to redeem the property or it is transferred to those purchasing it.
