Benjamin M. Lord graduated Friday, Nov. 9, from the 57th academy of the Springfield Police Department.

The 2004 graduate of Houston High School was among those who completed the six-month academy beginning in May 2007 that included more than 1,000 hours of classroom and situational training.

Lord, who has an associate degree from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, is the son of Mark and Sandy Lord of Houston.
